Red and dark cherry, with dried herbs, mushroom and earth. Clove and anise add spice, while powdery tannins carry a broad, savoury finish.

Vintage & Wine Details

VINTAGE

Warm, dry conditions and a favourable flowering period produced small, intensely flavoured berries. The five clones reached maturity separately and were harvested between 11 and 29 April.

VINEYARD

Single-vineyard fruit from the Clos Ostler monopole in the Waitaki Valley. The dry-grown vines occupy a north-facing limestone escarpment at approximately 208–230 metres. Caroline’s is drawn from the broader five-clone planting of 115, 667, 777, UCD6 and Abel.
