Clos Ostler EOS: New Zealand's Only Pinot Noir at Decanter's London Winners' Table

Clos Ostler EOS Pinot Noir 2022 will be presented at the Decanter Fine Wine Encounter London on 6–7 November 2026 as the only New Zealand Pinot Noir on the published DWWA Winners’ Table.

Decanter's selection features 43 wines from 16 countries. EOS earned Platinum and 97 points at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2026, recognition for a Pinot Noir grown on our family’s north-facing limestone monopole in the Waitaki Valley, North Otago.

What makes EOS 2022 distinctive?

The cool, wet 2022 season produced a particularly poised expression of our vineyard. Dried raspberry, wild strawberry and crushed rose lead into hints of lemon thyme; fine, powdery tannins and a long savoury finish give the wine its structure and persistence.

Our eight-hectare vineyard lies on ancient marine limestone between the Southern Alps and the Pacific. It is this singular site, and the long, cool growing season, that we believe gives our Pinot Noir its distinctive perfume, texture and freshness.

International recognition for Waitaki Pinot Noir

EOS 2022's place on the London Winners’ Table is not a claim that it has been ranked New Zealand’s number-one Pinot Noir. It is a meaningful independent recognition that puts a wine from the Waitaki Valley in front of an international fine-wine audience. Decanter also awarded EOS Platinum and 97 points in 2026; Caroline’s Pinot Noir 2021 previously won the New Zealand Red Trophy at the International Wine Challenge 2025.
